ltd repress! dominik eulberg�s second ep on his label apus apus features the track �roter gitterling� (eng. basket stinkhorn / red cage) on the a side and �tintenfischpilz� (engl. octopus stinkhorn / devil s fingers) on the flip side. a. roter gitterling the fleshy red cage of this kind of mushroom reminds of a merging of an upside down shopping string bag and an alien. not allowing any objection, the track strides forward with determination towards a musical interpretation of this strange being. a fulminant kick drum counteracts in a very prosaic way the bitter-sweet pads. in a very narrative fashion the track gathers speed and flocks diverse soundscapes and disembogues in a break of harmonical expanse. conciliatory and in a hedonistic way the bass drum eventually stitches together what belongs to each other. b. tintenfischpilz this bizarre looking extraterrestrial mushroom evokes at first glance the image of a dead octopus or radioactive vegetable. as in a science fiction movie four to six tentacles sprout and raise out of a common stinkhorn and later spread into a star shape look. in an unparalleled manner this stunning progression is executed musically by eulberg with a high degree of elaboration. all done with elegant blend of continuous progression and permanent change the track wreathes itself towards heaven, whereas fragmented melody artifacts pour into the shape of a miraculous emergence.

genosha basic artists, ghost in the machine make their perc trax debut! full picture sleeve perc trax returns to the dance floor after the political firestorm that was perc s bitter music with the debut release on the label from the netherland s ghost in the machine. the perc and therefore perc trax name stems from the word percussion and these three drum-focused tracks sum up the label s name perfectly. rarely appearing away from their own genosha basic imprint this ep hits as hard as anything on perc trax in recent years and along with recent releases from ansome and scalameriya ushers in a new wave of artists and a distinct new chapter in the perc trax story. the holy grill commands the whole of the a-side and charges forward until a reese led breakdown gives you a moment to pause for breath. the b-side contains two percussive workouts that have enough movement and development to them to elevate them above simple drum tools. as b2 track pskdt s locked groove loops endlessly (a first for perc trax), it is clear this ep is a hard-hitting statement of intent from a duo you should be hearing a lot more on perc trax in the near future.

brs were a uk house outfit who released between 2000-2008 on their own imprint friends & families & on many other labels including 2020 vision, cyclo & imperial dub - the group comprised of rob evans, ben vacara & mr mulatto (the 2x latter now members of the situation collective). lovin me was first released on a brs ep on imperial dub recordings back in 2000. in its original format the 12- included the original mix, dubtribe sound system remix and a bonus track bouncing. situationism are delighted to re-release the incredible full length dubtribe soundsystem remix again on limited vinyl. this remix became a classic, appearing on numerous compilations including groove armada s another late night and ministry of sounds chillout sessions 2004 to name but a few. included on this limited vinyl run will be 2x new remixes from italian deep house, motorbike duo harley & muscle & the also the lovely bittersuite, both delivering quality mixes. all brought to you in time for those long summer evenings!
